Project Overview
Frogs Farm has a large water reservoir with grassy banks that had grown long and thick over the season. The farm asked us to mow the banks so the water store stayed safe, tidy, and easy to check. We planned the work to suit the slope of the banks and the wet ground near the water.
The Challenge
Reservoir banks are steep and often slippery, so normal mowing can be tricky and unsafe. The long grass also made it hard to spot any weak spots or damage in the bank that needed to be seen. We had to cut the whole bank without harming the reservoir wall or letting anyone or any machine slip towards the water.
Our Approach
Our team used the right machinery for sloped ground and worked carefully from the top of the banks down to the water’s edge. We cut the grass to an even, low level and cleared the trimmings so nothing was left to rot on the bank. Working over a single day, we kept a close eye on safety and made sure the reservoir wall was never put at risk.
The Results
The reservoir banks at Frogs Farm are now clean, low, and easy to walk along. The farm can check the bank for any problems, and the water store looks well cared for. Regular mowing like this keeps the banks strong and stops heavy growth taking over again.
